SPORT RESOURCE GROUP ANNOUNCES US AND CANADIAN PATENTS FOR SRG FUSION SAFETY PADS
Minneapolis, MN, USA SEPTEMBER 6, 2013 –Sport Resource Group (Minneapolis, MN) is proud to announce its SRG Fusion Safety Pads have received patent protection in both the United States and Canada. Sport Resource Group’s Fusion Safety Pads were developed to help protect players from termination points in any ice arena and to reduce the impact caused by these locations. After extensive testing on many existing termination pads, the need for a new, safer termination pad was identified. The SRG Fusion Safety Pads have four important design changes versus the current industry standard:
- Higher density foam
- L-shaped design to better hug the termination post corners
- Thicker foam at the most likely point of impact
- Taller options – 48”, 60” or 72” high
Under strict testing conducted by Vector Scientific Inc (VSI), SRG Fusion Safety Pads were able to reduce the impact that causes concussions by 75% versus the standard industry padding. Testing results and charts are available at https://sportresourcegroup.com/products/fusion-safety-pads. This is also the same website where customers can order SRG Fusion Pads in red, blue, black or white vinyl with choices of 48” high, 60” high or 72” high. Because Sport Resource Group believes safety should be a common cause for all manufacturers in the industry, SRG will provide discounted pricing to all dasherboard manufacturers in the United States.
“Hockey is a fantastic sport loved by millions of players and fans. As one of the leading suppliers of safety equipment in the hockey rink manufacturing business, we never stop looking for ways to make the game safer so more and more players can enjoy it,” said Sport Resource Group President Chris Guertin.
One 48” high SRG Fusion Safety Pad will retail for $145.00, so an entire rink can be outfitted with Fusion Pads for less than $600.00 USD. “Many recent safety enhancements have not been economically feasible for rink owners, managers or youth hockey associations. With these safety pads, we feel we are making the game safer for all levels of hockey – not just professional teams,” said Guertin. With a dedicated website, Sport Resource Group has made the ordering process as simple as possible and the installation process of removing current termination pads and adding SRG Fusion Pads should take less than 30 minutes.
SRG Fusion Safety Pads first made their debut at the NHL’s Research and Development Camp in Toronto in August 2010. Since that time, they have been mandated into all Men’s and Women’s arenas in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and are in use in many community level ice arenas throughout North America.
The U.S. Patent No. for SRG Fusion Pads is D689205 and the Industrial Design Registration Number in Canada is 142383.
